A dressage saddle is designed to put the rider in the correct position for dressage, i. e a longer leg and a straighter line from ankle to shoulder. The billets on a dressage saddle are designed like a close-contact, and for the same reason. Instead of having the girth, etc. between your leg and the horse, you only have the saddle. I'm not sure what you mean by "effect n the horse" because a slightly different girth won't really ahve an effect.

The longer girth straps are designed to remove most of the buckles on the leg circumference of the driver. Some sensitive horses dislike the pressure of the buckles on the nerves that lead down the sides behind the scope and the solution marks the belt with a sheepskin sleeve, but you will get a short girth straps on some saddles. We have a Stubben Romanus with short straps. The saddle is constructed so that the driver is the ideal position and there are many different forms. More Advanced prefer a wider, flatter seat monoflaps or close contact developed. Amateurs tend to go for big knee and thigh rolls and buckets seats, also known as "deep" seat. The saddle is primarily a horse can move freely and not to pinch the shoulders and the best of them are technically very far advanced. We use Bates Caprilli saddles, as they filled the air and adjustable.

OMG !!! Cassie uses this under her exercise saddle (and racing saddle sometimes) and it is way kewl and a great pad. It has a "kewl-ness factor of over 10+ for sure. Ha ha.... The double quilting is so nice and comfy too! It stays on the horse evenly and nicely, even though it does have that dbl quilting and is a bit thicker than some of the other AP pads. The color holds well through washings and it is WAY pretty. With Cassie's black racing equipment, it is sharp! It is well made, good stitching, has held up nicely so far and also is way nice under her Crosby PDN Close contact saddles in "Jumper classes" too, even with a fleece white pad on it... Christmas is coming soon, and I will be re-ordering another for her! We love it. It is such a "girlie" thing! lol {you gotta have fun riding professional horses too sometimes! - right? and look cute in the process} Certainly fit for a Princess!
